Mohun Bagan Super Giant have won the Indian Super League title for the second time, defeating Mumbai City FC 3-2 after extra time in a thrilling final at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. A crowd of 68,000 witnessed one of the greatest matches in Indian football history.
Trailing 2-1 with just five minutes of normal time remaining, Mohun Bagan equalised through a spectacular overhead kick that sent the stadium into delirium. The winner came in the 112th minute when a cross from the left was headed in at the far post.
The victory sparked massive celebrations across Kolkata, with tens of thousands of fans taking to the streets. It marked the culmination of a season in which Mohun Bagan dominated the league stage, finishing 12 points clear at the top.
