Grievance Redressal Mechanism

In compliance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, The Guardian Chronicle has designated a Grievance Officer to receive and address complaints from users and readers.

Service Level Agreement

  • Acknowledgement: Within 24 hours of receipt of complaint.
  • Resolution: Within 15 days of receipt of complaint.

Categories of Complaints Accepted

  • Hate speech or content promoting enmity between communities
  • Misinformation or factually inaccurate reporting
  • Privacy violations (including unauthorised disclosure of personal information)
  • Defamation, libel, or slander
  • Copyright or intellectual property infringement
  • Obscene or sexually explicit content
  • Content harmful to children

How to File a Complaint

Please email the Grievance Officer with the following details: (a) your full name and contact information, (b) URL of the content complained of, (c) category of complaint, (d) a clear statement of the grievance, and (e) any supporting evidence.

If you are not satisfied with the resolution, you may escalate the matter to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting or approach the appropriate judicial forum.
